The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population of Brisbane is at the heart of our organization.

Community members and concerned general practitioners started our service as a small volunteer group in the early 1970s, providing primary health care to the Indigenous community around Spring Hill.

We have now grown to be one of the largest Indigenous community organizations in Queensland, and proudly remain community-controlled and managed. AICHS provides a diverse range of health and ancillary services in a culturally appropriate setting to more than 12,000 clients throughout the Greater Brisbane Area.
